8vo 8" - 9" tall; Bound copies of the annual reports for the town of Newport, including subcomittees and commissions. Covering the years 1894 - 1909. Bound in 1/4 leather and pebbled cloth boards with gilt title lettering at spine. Internal joints damaged with boards and spine essentially losse over the text block. First 40 or so pages are loose or becoming disbound. Several other signatures mid-book are starting. Some dampstaining to the front edge of the first several leaves. The loose and starting pages are ruffled and furred at the front edge. Prior ownership penned top edge of first several pages: "Board of Water Commissions." Contents appear to be complete for these 15 years. Requires rebinding, recommended in two volumes to accomodate the weight of the pages being bound. Binding copy. Fair to Good thus. ... Lithographed views and steel engraved portraits; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 540 pages; Stout volume soundly bound in original beveled brown cloth boards with ornate title lettering in gilt to cover board. Retains original leather spine with gilt title lettering and embellishments somewhat rubbed and dulled. All edges gilt. Leahter over spine rubbed at edges and over surface with shallow chipping and crumbling of leather at tail and a several inch partial separation along the front spine edge from the tail. Profusely illustrated with lithographed views and tissue guarded steel plate engraved portraits. Here and there some light foxing to the tissue guards but in general the contents are exceptionally well preserved, bright and clean. Spine tender and rubbed but overall solidly bound with original coated endpapers and reinforced hinges. VG- thus. ... Text unmarked. The original edition, but one that may have spent some time used in a school class setting. Good only. Uncommon in the original edition.

Pictorial covers from the front and rear of each of the 1875 - 77 Almanacs are bound in as well as the front and rear of 1870, rear of 1871, front of 1872, rear of 73 and 74. Pictorial map of Fairmount park appears inside the rear cover of the 1870 issue. Spine in five compartments with four raised bands; title lettering gilt tooled in 2 compartments. Leather lightly rubbed over bands and at corners. Binding sound and contents neat. Prior owner bookplate removed from front pastedown with surface scar to the paper. Solid and attractive. VG

Title label at spine is rubbed and chipped with some minor loss to lettering but with the subject and dates easily discernabel. Binding sound. 12 copies of the quarterly in all, with a yearly index appended to the end ogf each year's volume. Prior owner has added some research notations in pen and pencil to a few scatteres groups of pages. Solid copy, if a little shelf worn and slightly utitlitarian in its rebinding. VG-

Oblong 8vo 8" to 9" tall; [no date given] Circa 1906. Hardcover in an oblong octavo format. No publisher or place given in this rushed to press photograph accounting of one of America's worst disasters. Illustrated paper covered boards with blue cloth backstrip, unlettered. Text block is side stapled, as issued. Profuse photo illustrated documentary of the conflagration, its effects and some views of buildings and vistas before the fire. Boards are rubbed at edges and moderately surface scarred. Cloth spine is worn but sound, pulled at crown with a short tear. Binding sound but shaken in the joints and notably weak at the rear internal hinge which is lacking the endsheet. Contents complete and clean. Quite uncommon with only five copies recorded in US Library collections. Includes probably 300 or so photograph illustrations. Good plus copy.
