In original 1/4 leather and burgundy colored cloth; title lettering and horizontal ruling to spine brightly in gilt. leather spine rubbed and lightly stressed at ends with shallow chipping at crown. Light surface rubbing to spine and a ligth vertical stress crease. Boards bumped at corners with mild abrasions and boards peeking through. Front flyleaf removed, likely to obscure prior ownership. Usual and excpected light soiling and toning scattered to text pages. Brief sums penciled to front pastedown; some several pages creased at top corner. Sound generally clean copy with complete plates and folding map. This is the 30th edition of an astronomy text much used in mid 19th century American schools. G++ or better

Top corner of the blank endpage had adhered to the title page and there is a small area of the corner of the blank which is missing. Coverstock a little surface wrinkled, apparently from glue used in attaching the pastedowns. Two short closed tears bottom edge rear and a partial separation along the lower portion of the spine fold have been mended with Japanese paper tape. Contents bright and neat. Uncommon. About VG
