Frontis portrait of Napoleon either lacking or not bound in. Facing the title page is the publishers apology "Advertisement" noting irregularities in pagination, chapter headings, etc caused by a deficiency in the copy of the British edition from which the plates were assembled. Publisher catalogs of 8 pp front of Vol I; 8 pp front of Vol II; 4 pp front of Vol III. Unusual thus. 8, [4], xvi, (17) 18 - 516; 8, viii, 9 - 399; 4, viii, 9 - 368, lxix pp. Light chipping to title labels at spines. Text block pages untimmed; some pages unopened top edge.
