Mounted photographs; Large 8vo 9" - 10" tall; 1875 Privately published in a limited edition of 50 copies. In period full blue morocco with double gilt fillet rules to boards and titles tooled in gilt to cover and spine. Illustrated with two mounted collotype photos, a portrait of the author and a view of Airdrie Manor. Damp line and residue to the leather covers along the lower half with a light concavity to the boards. Contents bright and unblemished, printed on laid paper with red ruled borders. Pastoral verse tribute to the author's home at Airdrie. Quite uncommon. Moderate soiling to boards but sound with bright unblemished contents. Collotypes a bit faded. G+

Painted catalog/call numerals to base of spines and with "S" letter catalog indications painted mid-spine. Cloth is rubbed and nicked at spine ends with fray and rub trough at corners and spine ends. Some library grade glue mending to tears in the cloth over the spine edges of Vol I. Card pockets to rear endpages. And bookplates to front pastedowns. Library's periodic perforation ownership stamps to pages and plates in the text blocks of both books. Color drontis lacking from Vol I but present in Vol II. Light shipping to paper title labels at spines. Sound copy in the 1st US edition produced from sheets printed in Ireland. Worn and with some reapirs to cloth tears. A reading or filler copy. Good only at best. ... Oversize book may require additional charges for expedited or international shipping.
