2 Jackson, Sheldon Twelfth [12th] Annual Report on Introduction of Domestic Reindeer Into Alaska 1902
Washington D. C. Government Printing Office 1903 First Edition Thus Hardcover Near Fine
Photo plates and large folding map, Alaska; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 144 pages; 12th annual report considering the introduction of Siberian reindeer into Alaska. Notable annual for the profuse number of photographic plates and the massive fold-out colored map of Alaska. A bright solid copy with an immaculate, unhandled example of the map. Just trace shelf rub to cloth at tips. Title lettering in gilt at spine is bright and clear. A much nicer copy than usually found of this fascinating document on turn-of-the-century Alaska. NF

4 Krakauer, Jon Into the Wild
New York Villard 1996 067942850X / 9780679428503 First Edition; First Printing Hardcover Very Good- in Very Good- dust jacket Signed by Author
Large 8vo 9" - 10" tall; 224 pages; [SIGNED] 1996 Villard. HC/DJ. 1st edition, 1st printing. Inscribed by Krakauer on the half-title page to Kristin Keith, then an East Coast sales rep for Publisher's Group West. Signed after an evening of "a few too many drinks" according to the Krakauer inscription in her copy of "Eiger Dreams" - this copy is inscribed thus: "To Kristin, / My Comrade in the Literary / Trenches [? ] / It's Been A Fun Evening / [Signed] / January 1996 D. C." 1st printing is soundly bound and generally neat in original dust jacket. A drink condensation ring to the front panel of the jacket and a little damp evidence to the crown of the spine are presumably relics of the evening of a few too many drinks in a Washington bar. Light offset color bleed from the damped black cloth to the blank inner surface of the dust jacket. Mild damp ripple to surface of the jacket's front panel. Not in perfect condition but a signed 1st edition with a story. VG-/VG- thus. See our inventory catalog for Karkauer's "Eiger Dreams" signed on the same evening for reference to the related inscription. ; Signed by Author

10 Peter Hillary and John Elder In the Ghost Country; a Lifetime Spent on the Edge [Special Signed Edition]
New York Free Press 2003 0743243692 / 9780743243698 First Edition; First Printing Hardcover Near Fine in Near Fine dust jacket
Photographs; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 352 pages; 1st printing. An unusual copy, signed by both Hillary and Elder on the title page and with an additional signed inscription by Hillary to the foot of the title page, referencing his most recent Antarctic trip. The book is inscribed to Kristin Keith, then the East Coast sales person for Publisher's West. By all appearances this appears to be something of an ad hoc special signed edition; a $50 price sticker has been applied by the publisher over the $26 issue price printed to the top corner of the front jacket flap. While there is no limitation page or indication of a special signed edition, the higher priced sticker and the inscription to an important sales representative ( who saved many such limited and signed editions from her time in the trade) suggest this copy is an example of an ad hoc signed limited number of copies. Feels and appears unread, Crisp edged and uniformly bright dust jacket with just a whisper of shelf evidence. Handsome copy. F/NF; Signed by All Authors
