Paris & Philadelphia Durand & C. : Elkan - Vogel 1910 Paperback Good+
8vo 8" - 9" tall; 110 pages; [SIGNED by American Jazz composer, Kenyon Hopkins] 1910 Durand Et. C. : Elkan-Vogel. Probably a mid-30's printing. In title lettered, card stock covers. Sewn binding with wraps laid over. Covers toned and shelf soiled with furring and rubbing to spine edge of wraps Contents sound and complete. From the collection of important American Jazz composer - Kenyon Hopkins, with his manuscript note of ownership on the front cover. His occasional small pencil indications in the score. This is one of several scores from Hopkins' personal collection, signed by him, that we have in stock. Hopkins is well remembered for the distinctive soundtracks he composed for the 1950's and 60's film hits - Baby Doll, The Hustler, 12 Angry Men and others as well for his extensive television related compositions in his role as Paramount TV music director from 1969-73. His rare soundtracks for Lilith, starring Warren Beatty and Jean Seberg and This Property is Condemned starring Natalie Wood are much sought after rarities. He also composed unusual and pioneering atmospheric recordings featuring the aural atmospherics of horror on the albums Panic, the Son of Shock and Nightmare! ! , along with atmospheric jazz filled cityscape compositions such as The Sound of New York. Hopkins' signature is uncommon. Overall G+ ; Signed by Associated
