8vo 8" - 9" tall; HC 2 volumes, 5th printing. Vol II retains the original title lettered dust jacket and both books remain housed in the original text adorned slipcase. Slipcase and dust jacket copy states "fourth edition" but copyright pages state 5th printing. 431, 409 pp. Vol II generally neat in original dust jacket which is toned to the spine panel with shallow chipping at spine ends and a pair of closed snags to mid panel. Publisher price "2 vols, boxed $5" intact to front flap. Trace silverfish loss to the cloth at crown of spine. Vol I is rather dull to the spine with tiny flecks and pin head spots of loss to the cloth from silverfish predation. Similar effect along the lower edge of the cover board and to a thin swath of the rear board. Prior owner name penned neatly front endpage both voluemes. Mild foxing confined to preliminary pages. Binding sound and snug. Contents neat. Slipcase remains in rather decent condition, with 4th edition copy on the review panel. Text panels are toned and a little chipped at edges. Slipcase is unrestored and is solid at all joints. Books G to VG-. Dust jacket of Vol II in VG- condition and slipcase same. ...
