8vo 8" - 9" tall; 380 pages; Being the second volume of the collected acts passed at the first and second congresses, this volume contains the state ratifications of the Bill of Rights amendments, the Fugitive Slave Law of 1793, the important first American patent law of 1792, the Militia Act of 1792 among many other important early American laws. Treaties passed by the joint houses appear on pages 220 - 380. [28] pages at rear of contents and index. Soundly bound in period speckled calf with red morocco title label (Laws of State) at spine. This copy has been professionally rebacked using a sympathetic calf and the original spine leather laid down. Light to moderate rubbing to leather at tips and surfaces with a light score near the bottom edge of the lower board. Single blanks at front and rear. No half title page. Damp tide lines visible on pastedowns and blanks but not so to text pages. Expected scattered light toning and spotting, though the contents in general are clean and not foxed. Professionally and attractively rebacked retaining original boards and spine. Thus nearly VG

8vo 8" - 9" tall; 1933 - 1935. Sequential and complete set of the first 40 issues of the historical booklets published to commemorate the tercentanary of Connecticut. Ex-library bound in two hardcover volumes with original title wraps bound in. Issued were originally held as single issues with each booklet exhibiting trace remnant of a call slip to the inside of the rear cover wrap and each front wrap with the institution's bookplate on the inner verso surface. Sturdily bound in heavy blue buckram with basic title lettering in gilt to spines. Catalog labels to base of spines. Occasional pencil notation on title page by Library staff. Illustrations include fold-out maps and diagrams and some photos and figures in text. Superb collection of historical papers. Well preserved the contents are VG though the overall condition is graded to reflect prior library ownership. ...
