Known by the caption "It was with some difficulty that he found his way to his own house" this iconic Wyeth painting was lent to the Chrysler Museum for this monumental touring exhibition of children's book illustration. The shipping manifest for the return of the work to Bob & Carolyn Wohlsen with insured value of $200,000 is laid in at front. The book is snugly bound and neat with the original color dust jacket showcasing Wyeth's painting for Rip Van Winkle on the cover panel. Mild shelf/handling evidence to jacket edges and surfaces.
