Bound in publisher's decorative green cloth. Binding snug and contents neat. Pictorial design and gilt lettering to cover are bright; title lettering at spine a little dulled. Mild crimping and rubbing to cloth at spine ends; corners just very lightly rubbed. Mounted to front pastedown is the attractive bookplate of Redmond Conyngham, designed and engraved by noted historian of American printmaking, David McNeely Stauffer. Nice copy; VG to VG+

Several plates bound in irregular order with accompanying Dickens descriptive text leaves not facing the designated character plate. Ex-library copy with ctalog label at base of spine and minimal institutional attachments to endpages. Plates are bright and clean with just mild occasional foxing here and there to some scattered plates. Made attractive by the sturdy rebinding though suffering from aesthetic appeal by ex-library indications. Good only thus. ...
