This copy with prior ownership to front endpage in pencil manuscript of Lloyd Mifflin, prominent American poet and painter of Columbia, PA. Generally sound and decent but with some ex-library indications including a bookplate at front, remants of a catalog number painted base of spine and some light attachments to rear endpages. Library bookplate at front notes the book as from "The Library of Lloyd Mifflin." Illustrated with tissue guarded chromo litho printed color wheel frontis and numerous woodcut plates and figures. A little shelf cocked in the spine. A few mild yawns between signatures with several signatures starting slightly at front edge. Mild fray to cloth at spine ends; occasional mild foxing to text pages. Beaux Arts aesthetics. Good only thus. ... Inscribed by Bourke-White on the title page below her printed name: "For Elizabeth Haynes // Cordially // [signature]." At the base of the title page in very tiny manuscript is a gift inscription from Haynes to a subsequent owner. Soundly bound copy illustrated throughout by Bourke-White's striking b&w photographs, along with pictorial map endpages. Front endpages have offset toning from a newsclipping no longer present. A review clipping tippe onto the rear endpage remains with offset toning to the map endpages at rear. Gilt titling at spine rubbed and largely effaced and indistinct. Mild shelf rub to boards at corners; cloth at spine ends lightly stressed. Superficial silverfish evidence to cloth along the upper joint. One of Bourke-White's most uncommon titles, especially so in signed examples. This copy is Good only; Signed by Author

Oblong 8vo 8" to 9" tall; 20 pages; 1909 for the author by S. C. Toof & Co. , printer. Oblong format volume bound in limp maroon suede leather with red silk lined endpages. All edges gilt. Bound with a wide silk ribbon. Tile lettering in gilt top cover with a light flaking to the gilt from the suede surface. Covers remain supple and clean. Poem is printed recto only on a parchment like paper. Two or tgree pages with a mild bit of soiling. Title page in red and black. Photograph image of the author is mounted to the recto of the terminal blank leaf. The poem is signed by the author below the final verse. Small prior ownership inkstamp of a Frazier in Philadelphia. A very uncommon commemorative Lincoln volume; only two are held institutionally as recorded by Worldcat. Frazer Boyle was a well regarded southern poet and novelist. VG+ example ; Signed by Author
