Soundly bound in original dark green cloth with decorative pictorial title design stamped to cover and spine in black and gilt. Board edges bevelled. Cloth at spine lightly crimnped with trace fray and mild rub through to cloth at corner tips. A few signatures slightly sprung and starting a little at the front edge. Prior ownership penned to front pastedown; a short closed tear to the title page has been mended with archival japanes tissue paper. Illustrated with tissue garded engraving portrait frontis and 8 woodcut plates depicting battle scenes. VG-
