4to 11" - 13" tall; 292 pages; Large 4to. , 12" tall. Bound in leather spine and corners over heavy brown cloth boards. Spine unlettered, as issued. Decorative bordered titles brightly in gilt to cover board. Profusely illustrated with large single and double sheet maps of the individual and grouped States and territories, all in color. Leather rubbed at edges and corners, a little tired at spine ends. Short open tear to leather at the base of the spine over the front hinge. Prior ownership ornately in calligraphic script to front endpage. All maps in excellent condition, save for the Pennsylvania State map; one of the two sheets has separated from the binding stub. The loose page is laid in at the correct location and could be restored with minimal expense and effort. Cloth at the seams with the leather spine is rubbed and a little stressed. Front endpage with the front half of the leafe excised, probably to remove a gift or personal inscription. The large ornate ownership name is penned to the next free endpage. A solid, complete copy.
