8vo 8" - 9" tall; 69 pages; [SIGNED ASSOCIATION COPY] Publisher's original textured red cloth, lettered in gilt to cover and spine. Just mild shelf rub to cloth at spine ends and tips. Inconspicuous evidence of a bookplate removed from rear pastedown, of the same size as that at front. Inscribed by Balch to Samuel Dickson, who assisted in the book's preparation. Dickson's engraved, foxhunting themed bookplate mounted to front pastedown. T. W. Balch (1866-1927) practiced law in Philadelphia, devoting much of his time to writing and research in genealogy ans international arbitration. French Monk Emile Coure suggested in his New Cyneas (1623) that international disputes could be mediated by having representatives of all countries meet in one place.
