Includes b&w maps and illustration reproductions. A brief history of the Bayles family of Long Island, but by far the majority of the book is the reproduction of Civil War letters written by Albert & Edward Bayles Aug 1862 to May 1864. Both brothers died in action June 2 during a charge on Confederate works near Jamestown. Not found in any Worldcat collection, though the author did include the Civil War letters in a separate later work, also quite scarce. VG thus
