Bound in full period polished calf which is chipped at spine ends and rubbed at edges; both clasps are lacking. Text block is intact and the paper is supple, though with expected light uniform toning. Rear board is detatched, front board holding. Paged [6], 79, [1], 415, [1], 17, [1]pp ; 18 cm. Some pages with bars of music. Printed in two columns. Bound, as always, with Ein Neues Unpartheyisches Gesangbuch, with separate title page and pagination. Also imprinted Johann Albrecht, 1804 (Shaw and Shoemaker 6863). With 1825 ink ownership at rear of Maria Landis. This was the first of many editions of this popular Mennonite hymnal printed for the Lancaster Mennonite Church in the 1800's. A reasonably well preserved copy suffering from a detached rear board and loss of clasps. G+ Scarce
