Leather sides with decorative designs in blind. Later reinforcements with heavy leather straps across the top and bottom of the spine anchored with short iron and brass brads and collars. Binding is sound but there is a pronounced concavity to the page block with the middle portion of the book starting significantly at the front edge and the leather spine indented over the gapping back of the spine.
